Gone are the days when actors and other people of the elite class used to hide their sexual orientation, fearing public's judgmental approach toward homosexuals. The world has changed a lot since then. Today, it's okay to be a gay man or a woman, at least in the progressive and western democratic world. Unlike before, the LGBT community has the freedom to exercise their rights. Now, this change has led to numerous people including celebrities coming out as gay. 1.Chely Wright

This country music star was married to Lauren Blitzer in 2011. They now have twin boys together, Chely Wright gave birth to them, and overall they are a very happy family.

2.Narciso Rodriguez

This designer was married in front of some of his famous clients in 2013 to his partner, Thomas Tolan. They had already been together for years and you can just picture Jessica Alba sitting there crying at it all.

3.Jim Nabors And Stan Cadwallader

The 86-year-old veteran actor, who is known for portraying Gomer Pyle character on the famous 60s TV show "The Andy Griffith Show," married his partner, Stan Cadwallader, in 2013. Stan Cadwallader, who is in his 60s now, has been living with Jim Nabors for the past 40 years. The couple got married on January 15, 2013, just a month after Washington State legalized same-sex marriage. While talking about the wedding, Jim Nabors told a reporter, "I'm 82 and he's in his 60s, and so we've been together for 38 years, and I'm not ashamed of people knowing, it's just that it was such a personal thing, I didn't tell anybody."

4.Jesse Tyler Ferguson And Justin Mikita

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is a notable TV personality, best known for playing Mitchell Pritchett role on the ABC's sitcom, Modern Family. He is an openly gay celebrity. In 2013, he married Justin Mikita, who was a lawyer by profession. Jesse and his husband Mikita had lived together for 2 years before tying the knot on July 20, 2013. The couple has been running an organization to help and motivate same-sex partners to get married, thus eradicating the gender inequality in marriage. Jesse said he had tried and failed for three times to tell his father about his sexual interests. Interestingly, his sister is a lesbian too. 

5.Ryan Murphy

Ryan is the guy behind Glee and he has been with his partner, David Miller, since 2010. They ended up getting married in 2012 and they have had a son together thanks to a surrogate mother.

6.Alan Cumming

Scottish actor Alan Cumming was previous married to a woman for eight years, but he has been with his current partner since 2005. They were first married in 2007 and then ended up renewing their vows once more in 2012.

7.Rufus Wainwright

Rufus has been with his partner, Jorn Weisbrodt, for years leading to them getting engaged in 2010. They finally got married in 2012 and they also have a son who was born in 2011. Did you know Rufus Wainwright was once raped?

8.Cynthia Nixon

Hottest celebrity lesbian Cynthia was of course a huge star in Sex in the City and Cynthia Nixon has been with her partner, Christine Marinoni, since 2004. They ended up marrying in 2012 and have a son who was actually born in 2011.

This fashion designer is married to his long term partner, Lance LePere and they got hitched back in 2011. In actual fact they only announced that they were engaged a matter of weeks before they wed.

12.Elton John

Oscar winning musician Elton John is one of the biggest stars in the world and he married his partner David Furnish, who he met in 1993 back in 2005 when civil partnerships became legal in the UK.
