Sarah McLachlan found out that she adopted when she was nine years old by Jack and Dorice McLachlan, in Novia Scotia. Her brothers Ian and Stewart McLachlan were Jack and Dorice's biological sons, but to her they were her brothers. Being adopted was never a big deal to her, but she did find her biological mother, who put her up for adoption when she was just 19 years old.
