Zac Efron comes from a middle class family and was raised in Arroyo Grand, California. His father, an electrical engineer, encouraged Zac into acting when he was just eleven years old, where he performed on stage in various shows, before being signed to Creative Artists Agency. After graduating from Arroyo Grande High School, he was accepted to the University of Southern California but instead took work on film projects.
