1.Malee Duangdee
At 6 feet 10 inches it is perhaps not her height that surprises you, but the fact that she comes from Thailand where people are not really known for being that tall as most women are quite small and petite. This does mean that she is seen as a bit abnormal in the country as she towers above even most of the men.
2.Gitika Srivastava
At 6 feet 11 inches she is not the tallest woman in the world by some stretch, but it is still an impressive height and makes her one of the tallest woman alive today. Once again she is a former basketball player and it makes a lot of sense for her to use her height in that way as she does tower over most people both men and women.
3.Ella Ewing
Ella lived in Missouri and the Guiness book of records stated that she was 7 feet 4 inches when she died although some claimed that she was actually 8 feet 4 inches, but that has never been proven. However, even at over 7 feet she was still huge and was the tallest woman alive at that time, as far as we know, and you could not argue about her height when you look at this picture.
4.Uljana Semjonova
Compared to others, Uljana is small as she only stands at 7 feet tall, but when you see her up against other women of normal height it does show you how strange it looks. She was seen as being one of the leading female basketball players in the late 70s and 80s and it is obvious as to why this was the case since she towered above everybody else making the game very easy indeed.
5.Zeng Jinlian
This Chinese woman is huge as it is said that she actually measured 8 feet 2 inches and when you consider that China in general is not known for people that are tall it shows how much she would have stood out in a crowd. The surprising thing is that she died when she was still a teenager and they say it was of natural causes, but surely her size had something to do with it?
6.Katia Rodriguez
Katia measured 7 feet 10 inches tall and was undoubtedly one of the tallest woman alive until her death in 2011. Her size made it very difficult for her to do anything as you can imagine and even the size of her walking frame would dwarf the size of most objects that a normal person would use. She really was a giant in Brazil.
7.Yao Defen
Up until her death, Yao Defen was the tallest woman alive as she measured 7 feet 8 inches tall. Obviously this height is due to a problem with her pituitary gland, but sadly it did also contribute to her death at just 40 years old. This picture really does show you the sheer size of her because even that crutch is almost the same height as the woman next to her.

8.Sandy Allen
Sandy Allen must have been the tallest woman in America up until her death as she measured a mind boggling 7 feet and 7 inches and you can just get an idea of her size in this photograph. Her size just appeared to be completely out of proportion to everything else and you would be absolutely stunned if you saw her in real life.
9.Maria Feliciana dos Santos
This picture does not actually do her justice, but there are very few of her around that really do show her size. Maria measures 7 feet four inches tall and is, therefore, the tallest woman in Brazil and one of the tallest women in the world. Her size is just unbelievable and most people feel like a dwarf beside her, which is no surprise when she is that height.

10.Zainab Bibi
Zainab is the tallest woman in Pakistan and she also measures 7 feet and 2 inches. You can see in this photo how big a difference there is between her and other family members and she is the tallest woman in the country by some distance as well. She now lives in the UK after people would victimize her in Pakistan due to her height.
11.Svetlana Singh
Svetlana is the tallest woman in India as she measures 7 feet 2 inches and it is even reported that her child measured 5 feet when they were only three years old. That in itself is one unbelievable statistic, but when you see her up against other women you really do get a better idea as to how tall she is and how rare it is for a woman to be like that.
12.Margo Dydek
This photograph has not been photoshopped as Margo really is that tall. In actual fact she is 7 feet two inches tall making her one of the tallest women in the world and it is perhaps no surprise that she has decided to play basketball. She really does look ridiculously tall for a woman and there is no way she can hide on the court.
