There is no real need to describe what this book is about as you will already know the style and pace that it is written at. However, if you have read the first book, then you need to follow up with this and that is probably the only reason as to why it appears on a list of the most popular books in 2013.




2.The Fault In Our Stars

If you enjoy reading a good love story, then this is going to be the best book for you. This is a major tear-jerker and if you are a very sensitive soul it is going to take a long time for you to get through the book due to breaking down into tears at various stages. It is touching, it has happy moments in it, but most of all it is quite a powerful book to read.



3.Beautiful Creatures

Just the cover of this book is going to intrigue you as it focuses on a family curse in a small town and it certainly has a lot of dark and scary corners that it will take you into during the course of the novel. This book has Gothic hints to it and you will find yourself rooting for the main characters while wondering what just lies around the next corner for them.





4.Lean In

This book by Sheryl Sandberg is all about looking at reasons as to why the progress that was being made by woman appears to have somewhat stalled in recent years. Sheryl tries to work out why this is the case when things were going so well and overall it is an interesting look at society and the changes that have taken place over the last few decades.



5.Alex Cross, Run

This book by James Patterson is all about a detective who arrests a plastic surgeon who was abusing girls. After being released he changes his face and murders start to happen, but Alex Cross the detective is also at risk with somebody out to kill him. This thriller has been a number one bestseller around the world and when it comes to thrillers there are very few that are better than this one.





6.The Hit

This book by David Baldacci is all about an assassin who is used by the US government to do the dirty work that they do not wish to admit to. However, he does have his equal in the form of a female assassin and when she turns rogue it is up to him to get her. This is an action packed book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately it is an amazing read.



7.Fifty Shades of Grey

Ok so you were probably expecting this book to appear in a list of bestsellers as it has hardly been out of the news in the last year or so. It is all about a particular type of relationship involving BDSM and it is seen as an erotic thriller that has resulted in women around the world opening their eyes to new things in the bedroom. Whether or not that is the case remains to be seen.

8.Proof of Heaven

This book is a bit of a surprise, but only until you look at the subject it covers and you will start to understand why so many people wanted to read about it and ultimately this led to them buying their own copy. This is all about a scientist, and it is real life, who experienced the afterlife just as others have described it elsewhere and it really is a fascinating read. Fifty Shades of Grey



9.Gone Girl

This book by Gillian Flynn managed to get to the top of the charts and it stayed there in the upper echelons for over 50 weeks before dropping back down. Gillian is one of the best suspense writers out there and this book does certainly grab your attention from very early on and your mind will undoubtedly race as to what is going to happen next. This really is a great read.

10.The Great Gatzby

OK so this image is actually of the movie poster starring Leonardo DiCaprio, but the book itself has made its way back onto the bestsellers chart as a direct response to the movie coming out in the first place. If you want to know what it is all about, then go and watch the movie, then treat yourself to the book to see the difference that Hollywood makes.



11.Safe Haven

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks managed to spend 91 weeks on the list of bestsellers according to USA Today and it did reach the number one spot as well. This is a story that is going to pull at those heartstrings and ultimately it will draw you in and will not let go until it has finished telling you the story it set out to do.

12.Inferno

It is perhaps no surprise that the latest book by Dan Brown was the biggest seller in the first half of 2013. This book follows the same lines as his previous ones, but thanks to the success of the da Vinci code we are all intrigued by the way he uses symbolism and cryptic clues to take us through the story. If you loved his previous books, then you will love this
