South Africa has a range of animals, but one of the strangest is the heaviest flying bird in the world called the Kori Bustard. This bird can weigh up to 42 pounds and that is quite impressive for something that has to try to get off the ground and fly.

If you thought that the rainforests would have the greatest biodiversity, then think again. The grasslands in South Africa actually beat them hands down as there is an average of 30 species per square kilometer.
5.A floral kingdom
South Africa is seen as a floral kingdom and it has hundreds of plant species that you will just never find anywhere else. It has a real mixture as well thanks to changes in the climate as you move around the country.
6.Highest bungee jump
South Africa is home to the highest bungee jump in the world. It means you fall 710 feet with a rope around your ankles and to say that it is only for those with nerves of steel really is an understatement to say the least.
7.Lots of shipwrecks
It is estimated that there are more than 2000 different shipwrecks off the coast of South Africa. It shows how dangerous the waters are around that coast and there have even been a few that have simply vanished without a trace.

When it comes to animals that can run fast, then South Africa is home to 3 of them. The cheetah, lion, and wildebeest can get up to amazing speeds and they all live in the one country.

South Africa is home to the oldest meteor scar to have ever been found and it is now a world heritage site. You can find it at the Vaal River and it is well worth checking it out.

South Africa is not like other countries in the continent and this is shown by the fact that it is viewed as having the third cleanest drinking water anywhere in the world. This does not apply to every part of the country, but generally speaking the water is perfectly safe.
