1.Costa Rica
Costa Rica resides in Central America between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean. In 2009, the country ranked number one on the Happy Planet Index and tops our list as one of the happiest countries in the world. With a tropical climate, the country seasons are defined by their rainfall only.
2.Isreal
With the Isreal star on their flag, this country is proud of their Judaism. Isreal sits on the Mediterrean Sea, it borders Lebanon and Syrai, with Egypp to the southwest. With hardly any rain between May and September, it's no wonder it's one of the happiest countries in the world.
3.Australia
Crikey the Aussies are happy. How could they not be. With a temperate climate, the outback and many beautiful creature, the country is the 6th largest in the world. It is also one of the wealthiest in the world. Sitting between the Pacific and Indian Oceans, Australia is a short distance from the Great Barrier Reef.
4.Iceland
With a name like Iceland, it might be hard to imagine the people there as being happy, but this country ranked in the top ten as far as happiest countries. With a population of 312, 857 people in a 40,000 square mile country, most of the people are of Norse and Gaelic descent.
5.Austria
The landlocked country of Austria is bordered by Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. The country is cool to temperate with humid winds coming from the west. With the Alps taking up almost three quarters of the country, there is such a thing as Alpine Climate there.
6.Finland
Finland was once part of Sweden, but is now it's own happy country. The country was considered the best country in the world by Newsweek Magazine in 2010, but was once ruled by Russia. On of the oldest countries in the world, Finland ranks as one of the happiest, too.
7.Canada
Canada occupies the entire northern part of North America, with coasts on the Atlantic and Pacific. The second largest country in the world, it shares a border with the United States and is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Human being have been living there as far back as 24,500 B.C.

8.Sweden
Sweden is a country that is 173,860 square miles residing in Northern Europe. it has the third lowed infant mortality rate and is a Scandinavian country. Becoming a member of the European Union on January 1, 1995, Sweden has become a multicultural nation with a large influx of immigration in 2013.
9.Netherlands
The Netherlands is located in Northwestern Europe and it has three islands in the Caribbean. Known for its sinful capital city of Amsterdam, the red light district with girls for sale in windows, is a tourist attraction for many young men looking to experience life without boundaries. It definitely is a happy place.

Switzerland has the most wealth per person, with their life expectancy being the second highest in the world. It's no wonder they're happy, or do they live longer because they're happy. It's the old chicken and the egg conundrum. Located in central Europe, it is bordered by France, Italy and Germany.
11.Norway
Norway is 148,747 square miles and is the least densely populated of all the countries in Europe, but the second happiest country in the world. With more than five million people, the country is fourth in per capita income and produces the most oil and natural gas besides the Middle East.

Denmark has a temperate climate and little elevation, with a sandy coastline. Located south of both Sweden and Norway, the country borders Germany. Having the highest social mobility with a high level of income equality, it's not wonder this country ranks as happiest in the world.
