Veggies That Won't Make You Fat

1.Celery

Everybody knows that celery does not have much in it at all and that you use up more energy to eat it than what it can give you. However, it is full of vitamins and minerals and that is why we need to keep eating it, but when it comes to carbohydrates you will find that there is only 1g in half a cup.




2.Mushrooms

Mushrooms may not be something that everybody likes, but the number of carbohydrates in half a cup really is virtually nil. The average works out at 1g per half cup no matter the type of mushroom you have, so if you love the taste, then do not feel bad about eating them.



3.Carrot

The carrot can often be quite sweet, depending on the variety, but even although it tastes like this it is still not high in carbohydrates. Half a cup of them all chopped up will have in the region of 4g of carbohydrates, and even though that is higher than a lot of other vegetables it is still nothing to worry about.





4.Cabbage

Cabbage is not something that everybody likes, but when it comes to the amount of carbohydrates, then half a cup generally equates to 1.5g of carbohydrates. Of course we tend to eat more than half a cup at any given time, but at least even vast quantities will not make you fat.



5.Tomato

It is great to hear that the humble tomato is not going to make us fat especially when you consider how many of them we tend to eat in a year. If you take half a cup, then you are going to be consuming around 2.5g of carbohydrates, so at least when you put it on a sandwich there is not a lot to worry about.





6.Avocado

An avocado is often quite refreshing, but at the same time you can also feel safe in the knowledge that it is not going to cause you any problems with your weight. An entire avocado is only going to have in the region of 3g of carbohydrates, which is quite impressive and great news for using it in your cooking.



7.Cucumber

Cucumber is great in a salad and if you have half a cup of sliced cucumber it is only going to be giving you in the region of 2g of carbohydrates. This is probably not much of a surprise as you will just feel as if you are eating water.

8.Green bean

The green bean is quite versatile and the fact that you also do not have to worry about eating it and putting on weight is certainly a bit of a bonus. Half a cup of them will typically contain around 2g of carbohydrates, so eat as much as you like.



9.Lettuce

A lot of people feel that lettuce is a bit mundane, but there is no doubt that it is still a good vegetable to have on a regular basis. One cup of lettuce will typically contain 0.6g of carbohydrates, so at least you never have to worry about it making you fat.

10.Spinach

Spinach worked wonders for Popeye, but we can benefit from it due to the amount of minerals contained within it. The fact that a cup of spinach only has 0.4g of carbohydrates in it should only go and reinforce your belief in eating it.



11.Asparagus

Asparagus may indeed be a bit of an acquired taste, but when it comes to not making you fat it is difficult to find anything that contains less carbohydrates than this. Generally speaking, half a cup is going to equate to just one gram of carbohydrates, so you may as well say that it does not really have any.

12.Broccoli

Well broccoli is certainly good for you in a number of different ways, but do you know that if you have just half a cup of it that you will only be taking in a grand total of two grams of carbohydrates? Yes there is virtually nothing in it, but it is still packed full of goodness and there is no doubt that you should keep eating it.
