1.Rene Redzepi

So Nordic cooking is probably not your strong point, but it is certainly a lot more popular now thanks to this guy. One of his restaurants was also voted the best in the world in 2010, so if that is the case, then you know that there is something special about his cooking.




2.Fergus Henderson

This guy may come across as a bit of a geek and he does love offal, but it is something that has certainly marked him out as being different from the others. He takes ingredients that you would leave behind and transforms them into something wonderful and that on its own is one serious talent.



3.David Chang

When it comes to Asian fusion cooking, then this is the guy that you want to check out. He combines influences from around the world in ways that most people would never dream of and the result is something that is going to absolutely blow your taste buds away.





4.Joel Robuchon

If you thought that this guy had retired years ago, then you were correct, but he came back with a bang due to missing the industry. His food is seen more like a work of art than anything else and you should try to sample some of it before he retires again.



5.Tom Colicchio

If you love the idea of rustic cooking, then this is the guy for you. He does not go for the over the top and elaborate dishes, but instead focuses on the basics and letting you see how food does not have to be fancy to actually be an amazing treat to eat.





6.Daniel Boulud

When it comes to French cooking, then this guy has to be up there as one of the best in the world. He studied under some of the best French chefs to have ever existed before moving to the US and introducing the country to modern food.



7.Mario Batali

This guy actually started off in a pizza place, so it is pretty amazing to think that he is now a chef that is well known around the world and is highly respected within the industry. His area of expertise is Italian cooking with a regional twist and he really is fantastic at what he does.

8.Thomas Keller

Thomas Keller has been in the industry for some time now, but during that time he has built up a fantastic reputation for some amazing food. He has held a number of Michelin stars and the simplicity of his food is spellbinding.



9.Wolfgang Puck

This Austrian chef is a major business in himself. He trained in both Monaco as well as Paris and there is no doubt that it did set him up for an amazing career in the kitchen. He now appears on TV as well as various books where he teaches you how to also become an amazing chef.

10.Alain Ducasse

Well where do you start with this guy? He has been working in a kitchen since he was 16 and studied under some amazing chefs in France. He has had restaurants in Monte Carlo as well as Paris and has now moved into TV work increasing his fame in the process.



11.Jamie Oliver

This guy is kind of like the cheeky chappy of cooking, but he just makes everything seem so easy to do and that is why we love him. He really does know his stuff and the good news is if you go to one of his Italian restaurants you can sample it for not that much money.

12.Gordon Ramsey

This Scottish fire-laden chef is probably the most famous chef in the entire world. That is of course due to his TV shows, but do not allow that to undermine his cooking ability because he has so many Michelin stars that it is difficult to count them all.
