1.Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) is located in Virginia. It is a 23-mile-long bridge-tunnel crossing the entrance of the United States' Chesapeake Bay. Since opening to the public, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel has been traversed by more than 100 million vehicles. The northbound aspect of the bridge was opened on April 15, 1964, but the southbound didn't open until 35-years later.




2.Jintang Bridge

The Jintang Bridge is located in Zhejiang, China on the Zhoushan Archipelago; the largest offshore island group in China. It is a highway bridge with a cable-stayed bridge portion. The Jintang Bridge measures 26,540 meters long; connecting Jintang Island and Zhenhai, Ningbo. The bridge officially opened on December 25, 2009.



3.Atchafalaya Basin Bridge

The Atchafalaya Basin Bridge (also called the Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge) is a pair of parallel bridges in between Baton Rouge and Lafayette in Louisiana. The bridge's total length is 96,095 feet or 18.2 miles. These figures place the bridge as the fourteenth longest bridge in the world by total length. The Atchafalaya Bridge was opened in 1973 and consists of four lanes.





4.Donghai Bridge

Donghai Bridge (also known as the "Big East Sea Bridge") is one of the longest cross-sea bridges in the world. The bridge's length totals 32.5 kilometers or 20.2 miles.It connects mainland Shanghai and the off-shore Yangshan deep-water port in China. The Donghai Bridge was completed on December 10, 2005. Trucks that do not meet the weight requirement have been turned away from using the bridge.



5.Hangzhou Bay Bridge

The Hangzhou Bay Bridge is one of the longest in the world. Itcan be found in the eastern coastal region of China. The bridge connects the municipalities of Jiaxing and Ningbo in Zhejiang province. Construction of the bridge was completed on June 14, 2007, with its public grand opening being held on May 1, 2008. The bridge condensed highway travel distance between Ningbo and Shanghai from 249 miles to 174 miles. Additionally, itreduced travel time from 4 to 2.5 hours.





6.Manchac Swamp Bridge

The Manchac Swamp Bridge is a twin concrete support bridge. It measures approximately 22.80 miles in length and is located in Louisiana. The Manchac is one of the longest bridges in the world over water. The bridge gets its name because it is on Interstate 55 over the Manchac Swamp in Louisiana. The Manchac Swamp Bridge opened in 1979.



7.Lake Pontchartrain Causeway

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (also called the Causeway) is the sixth longest bridge in the world. It ismade up of a causeway composed of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana, United States. The longer of the two bridges is 23.83 miles long. Ever since 1969, the Causeway was listed by Guinness World Records as the longest bridge over water in the world. The bridge traffic count is 43,000.

8.Beijing Grand Bridge

The Beijing Grand Bridge is the fifth largest bridge in the world. It measures approximately 48.153 kilometers (29.921 miles). The bridge's longest span is 44 meters. The bridge is classified as a railway viaduct and it is located in Beijing.The Beijing Grand Bridge was completed in 2010 and opened in 2011.

The Bang Na Expressway is 55 kilometers long. It is a six-lane elevated highway located in Thailand. The bridge is a toll road that runs above National Highway route 34.TheBang Na Expressway was completed in January 2000 and has an average span length of 42 meters. The Bang Pakong River is the largest body of water that it crosses.

10.Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge

The Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge is the third longest bridge in the world. It was constructed in 2008 and opened in 2010. Upon its completion it was the longest bridge in the world, but has since been surpassed by two other bridges. The Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge measures 261,588 ft. (49.5 miles) long. The bridge is so long that it crosses the Wei River twice.



11.Tianjin Grand Bridge

Tianjin Grand Bridge is a railway suspension bridge that runs between Langfang and Qingxian-part of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. The bridge measures approximately 373,000 ft. or 70.6 miles. The bridge was built around 2006 and opened officially in 2011. The 2011 Guinness World Records has recorded it as the second longest bridge in the world.





12.Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge

The Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge holds the title of being the world's longest bridge. It measure 164.8 kilometers (102.4 miles) long viaduct on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. It is located on the rail line between Shanghai and Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu province.Construction on the bridge began back in 2006 and was completed in 2010. The bridge officially opened on June 30, 2011.
