1.Fruits Basket

This one is strange because it focuses on a family that is cursed and is infected by the spirits of animals from the Chinese zodiac. Yes that does sound rather strange to say the least, but at the same time this is anime so anything is possible and it does not take away from the fact that it is a rather enjoyable watch.

2.Gurren Lagann

This series is set in the future where the earth is ruled by somebody called the Spiral King. It involves hidden villages and youths trying to work against the new rules that are in place, but of course with it being youths there has to be a few problems.

3.Full Metal Panic

This series tells the story of somebody from an anti-terrorist group having to protect a particular girl and the relationship between them as well as how well he does indeed protect her. This is quite a fast moving series and it is certainly going to be something that you will end up watching in one go.

4.Trigun

This is classed as being a space western and it is easy to understand why that is the case when you start to watch it. It involves the lead character being hunted, bounty hunters, money, and general chaos, so it is fast moving and it is certainly going to be something that is well worth watching.

5.Samurai Champloo

This series takes you back to a particular period of Japanese history, but of course it has been altered slightly to fit into the anime style of story telling. It is pretty much a love story, although a slightly strange one, and it is certainly not as far fetched as other anime series that are also available.

6.Naruto

Naruto is a young ninja and indeed this entire series follows him on his adventures doing what all young ninjas have to do. This is something that has been going on since 1999 and it is certainly still very popular indeed and you should give it some attention as it is certainly very entertaining.

7.Bleach

This entire story follows the lead character called Ichigo Kurosaki. In this series he actually obtains some special powers and they mean that he has to defend humans, which is of course a full time task. The story is capable of drawing you in and holding you there and it is certainly something that you should seriously consider watching.

8.Neon Genesis Evangelion

This series is based in Tokyo, but it is a number of years after a major cataclysmic event has taken place. Of course that means that the world is different from how we experience it now and it is certainly a worthwhile series that takes you through the trials and tribulations of the people left on earth.

9.Elfen Lied

This series looks at the interaction between humans and a mutant species and it is certainly a very interesting story. This is the kind of thing where you would want to sit down and watch all of the episodes as a box set, so get comfy as there are a few to get through.

10.Cowboy Bebop

As the name perhaps suggests, this is a series that is all about a bounty hunter and you can certainly expect a lot of twists and turns in this particular story. The bebop is actually their spaceship and it is certainly a very popular and well thought out series and one that will certainly entertain you.

11.death Note

This series is all about a student who has come across a supernatural notebook and it is certainly a series that has proven to be quite popular for a number of years. The idea is that they are trying to create a crime free utopia, but whether they achieve it or not is something you will have to wait and see.

12.Fullmetal Alchemist

This is seriously cool and the entire series is based around the European industrial revolution and even if that does sound a bit uncool, then you would be wrong. Instead, this is a very popular series and one that has been watched by millions.
