For some reason the fact that Australia is listed here will not come as a surprise because it is well known for its quality of life and the people that live there generally being some of the happiest in the world. It has sun, it has sea, it has a good healthcare system, it is safe, there is work, and ultimately there are so many positives about this country as a whole that it would be a shame if it was not included.

Austria is pretty much included thanks to Vienna as this is a city where the crime rate is virtually at zero, it is safe, economically it is a country that works and is not mired in corruption like others, and basically the people are happy to live there. When you combine this with good jobs, good salaries, and a good balance between work and leisure, then it is clear why Austria is included.

The reason why the Netherlands is on this list is because it manages to strike almost a perfect balance between work and leisure resulting in the Dutch being one of the most laid back and relaxed people in the world. People expect to have a high standard of living, they have good healthcare, workers are looked after at different times, and overall it is just a nice place to live.

If you work in Finland you are going to get 40 days of paid vacation days every single year making it one of the best in the world. However, for people living there they can expect one of the best education facilities in the world as well as leading healthcare that is fast and efficient in both diagnosing the problem and treating it accordingly. The country itself is also seen as being economically competent with this putting less strain on the people that live there.

Sweden is a country that is one of the most competitive economically and it is also ranked very highly in the list of best countries to work in as well. It is seen as being an honest country, the public and private sectors are well established, and the health care system is also very efficient with you getting treatment quickly. Overall this is a country where you will feel safe at all times and as long as you can put up with the winter, then it really is one of the best places to live.

Germany is a great place to live as the economy is very stable even in the recession and the average working week is under 30 hours a week, but it is still seen as being one of the best places to work in the entire world. Its infrastructure and transport networks are also second to none, so this is a country that is extremely efficient and things get done on time and get done well.

Norway is an expensive country, but apart from that it is ranked as one of the best countries to work in and it knows how to look after both parents after a child has been born as well. It is seen as being a very honest country and you do get 35 days paid vacation each year making it one of the highest in the world for this as well.

The reason why Denmark is on this list is because it has been ranked as being the number one country in the world when it comes to getting that balance between work and leisure time for workers in the country. This helps to make the people among the happiest in the world and generally there is quite a relaxed feeling in the air leading to it being an extremely nice place to live.

Singapore is very safe as they are strict with their laws, so you better not step out of line in any way, shape, or form. However, both its private and public sectors are seen as being among the best in the world and financially it is a very stable country and of course it is a major trade hub in the world. Oh and its life expectancy rate is higher than most other countries as well.

Japan is another country that is exceptionally safe and the health care system that is in place there is also one of the best in the world. It is for those two reasons that Japan has to appear in a list of the best countries to live even though working there is perhaps not as good as it should be, but at least you are safe and healthy.

11.Hong Kong

The reasons as to why Hong Kong should always feature on this list is because it is ranked as being one of the safest countries in the world as well as the fact that economically it is also one of the best. You can walk around at night and feel completely at ease here and you can only imagine how much stress and strain that takes off your shoulders.

France features highly on this list and you can kind of understand why if you even just go there for a vacation. The food is outstanding, but the main reason is that it is one of the best countries to work in. The reason for this is that you get more paid days off in this country than anywhere else in the world, oh and the French love a good strike if anything goes wrong.
