According to the Canadian Medical Association Journal, a pregnant woman's risk of miscarriage increases 2.4 times by taking any type of non-aspirin non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen or naproxen during pregnancy. It is believed that taking NSAIDs during pregnancy can cause a small to moderate risk of congenital defects. Acetaminophen is a safer pain reliever option.
