1.Dali Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory
The painting itself is amazing, but just how good does it now look as a tattoo? Of course it needs the entire back in order to get the space to do it justice and boy has the tattoo artist done a good job with this.
2.Beardsley The Peacock Skirt
This may not be the most famous of paintings, but just look at how cool it is as a tattoo. There is actually something quite beautiful about it all and you would be forgiven for thinking that the painting itself was just made for this very purpose.
3.Klimt's The Kiss
Ok so this has quite a modern feel to it, but the detail in this tattoo is actually very impressive indeed. You only have to go and check out what Klimt did in the original to fully appreciate this tattoo and understand just how long it must have taken to have it done.
4.Fisherwoman
This tattoo is showing Beckmann's Fisherwoman painting and as you can see there is a lot of work that has had to go into it. This painting may be slightly squashed onto the arm, but it is still clear as to what it represents and it is certainly well worth comparing it to the original to see how good the tattoo artist actually is.
5.The sea
OK you may never have seen or heard of this, but this tattoo is an exact copy of a painting called "The Great wave off Kanagawa" and if you go and look at the real thing you will see how amazingly accurate this tattoo actually is. There just seems to be so much energy going on there that both the original artist and the tattoo artist has managed to capture and that in itself is impressive.
6.Swans reflecting elephants
This tattoo is of the famous Dali painting of the same name and as you can see it does need the entire back in order to really do it justice. There is so much going on in the painting that you wonder how the tattoo artist has managed to translate it onto the skin, but they managed it and boy did they do a good job.
7.The Dali clock
This is another famous painting and as you can see it does also work exceptionally well when it comes to being turned into a tattoo. Of course the shoulder is going to be the best location for it as it can use the natural curve there to maximum effect as can be seen in this example.

8.Picasso
You would think that anything of Picasso could make for an interesting tattoo due to the shapes he uses and the energy in his work. This is probably not the first piece of art you would think about for him, but it does still somehow work and that is the key part here.
9.Van Gogh
This painting just works so well as a tattoo and it can go on an arm or a leg without any problems whatsoever. It is of course the self-portrait of Van Gogh and the colors in it just work perfectly, so even though it may not be to everybody's taste you have to still admire it.

10.Banksy
This tattoo pays homage to a modern day artist called Banksy rather than some of the older ones such as Van Gogh or Picasso. His art work actually works quite well with a tattoo due to its style and as you can see this is something that is seriously cool to look at.
11.Starry Night
This tattoo may be quite small, but you can still see that it depicts the painting called "Starry Night" by Van Gogh. The tattoo artist has managed to get the colors right and it shows how talented they actually are when they can replicate this kind of scene.
