People typically wear crosses as a way to be closer to God, or as a form or protection, but when it comes to a cross tattoo that's an entirely different story. In the Russian prison system, a tattoo on the chest represents a 'Prince of Thieves'. According to their beliefs, this is the highest rank a Russian criminal can achieve. This type of tattoo is usually donned by high-ups in the mob.
