#8 The Exorcist - 1973
If you ever see a girl climbing on the ceiling and vomiting up pea soup, it's time to call The Exorcist. Self-sacrifice, faith, terror, possession and love are some of the topics addressed in this film. The movie's taunting music coupled with Linda Blair's drastic demon transformation makes this film terrifying. An exorcist is called when a young girl named Reagan (Blair) shows signs of being possessed by a demon named Pazuzu. This chilling film ends when a young priest sacrifices his body and life so Reagan can live. The frightening thing about this film is that it's based on a 1949 case of demonic possession and exorcism.
