Is it true that rednecks, hillbillies, etc. date or marry their cousins? Yes, it's true, but incest among redneck community may not be as prevalent as one thinks. Family incest, especially relationships between cousins, is frequent among the rural population of the United States as well as many other countries. Back in those olden days, the population density of the countryside areas was extremely low. The young boys and girls often had no other choice but to date or have sex with their cousins or close family members.
