If you had to hand in a homework assignment on a floppy disk. Create a word file named appropriately, paste a bunch of random text into it. Then pull out the disk, pull the slide back and use a knife to cut slits in the magnetic tape in several places.
This would allow the computer to see the file with a file size, but it would give them a corrupted file error. Usually gives you an extra day or two to get the project done, depending on when the teacher tells you that they need another copy.
