1.Marilyn's Dress Sketches

Costume designer William Travillas sketches of the dresses Marilyn Monroe wore in her famous films are set to go on auction in Beverly Hills. Included in the collection is the subway dress Marilyn Monroe wore in the film 'The Seven Year Itch'. Each drawing is expected to fetch around $8 000 to $9 000 a piece.

2.Edward Scissorhands

We loved the movie and loved the costumes. The main part of the 'scissorhands' costume were the sharp scissor-like implements used to depict the main character hands. Made primarily from steel and foam latex no one could foresee that they would sell for a whopping $16 000.

3.Robert Elliot's Bunch of Rocks

Robert Elliot holds one of the rocks proudly from his meteorite collection that is due for auction. He is said to be well pleased with the $1.4 Million price tag on the rocks that form part his 170 strong collection. Elliot has spent over 13 years scouring the earth for meteorites and now is proud to be able to sell them for a tidy sum after all his hard work and effort.

4.A Big Black Watermelon

This big black watermelon sold for $6 Million dollars at a Japanese auction. It was grown on the island of Hokkaido where watermelons are said to be a rarity and luxury item. It was purchased by a marine company who wished to inject funds into local agriculture. One wonders how the purchaser felt when the melon got older and shrunk and became nothing but a rotten black fruit?

5.The Worlds Largest Coin

This massive coin was bought for ?2.68 Million as part of an insolvent estate. The coin forming part of an investment companies estate was purchased by a Spanish precious metal trading company.

6.'Happy Birthday Mr President'

Remember the dress that Marilyn Monroe sang happy birthday to President Kennedy in back in 1962? Well, it recently auctioned for over $1.2 Million dollars. It is surprising to note that it out-bid Princess Diana's dress sold two years earlier, which sold for $225 000. Monroe's dress was worn by her just months before she died.

7.Pure Luxury at $168 Million

This super luxurious Yacht sold on e Bay for a whopping $168 Million. The yacht is pure extravagance, featuring helicopter landing pads and an interior that could make one cry with pleasure.

8.Churchill's Teeth

Not the most glamorous item one could buy at auction for sure. It could rate as one of the most bizarre though. These false teeth belonged to Winston Churchill and sold at auction for $23 000. It strange to think that Churchill's famous speeches were made in collusion with these teeth!

9.Lonesome Cowboy

This anime statue of a Mango boy pleasuring himself and releasing the goods was auctioned at an art dealers for $13 Million. The bid was expected to reach a maximum of ?4 Million. Called the Lonesome Cowboy by the manner in which he is throwing around bodily fluid, the statue is quite beautiful.

10.The Henry Graves Jr. 'Grande Compilation'

This 18 carat gold watch crafted by Patek Philippe is said to be one of the most complicated watches ever made. Philippe dominates the elite watch-making business and is popular for producing not only beautiful and complicated watches but highly priced one's at that. This one sold at Sotheby's for $11 Million, in 1999.

11.The Pink Star Diamond $83 Million

This not so little gem was auctioned in Geneva for a mere $83 Million. Mined by De Beers in Africa the diamond is so rare it was a surprise to see it turn up at auction. The bidder a diamond cutter himself was applauded. As a fun touch the auctioneers played the theme tune from the 'Pink Panther' once the bid was successfully made!

12.John Lennon's Old Toilet

How much would your old toilet sell for? Probably not much! This pretty toilet belonged to non other than John Lennon. Story goes that Lennon told a builder to take it away and use as a plant pot when installing his new more fancier toilet. The toilet was found in the builders shed 40 years later. This pretty porcelain loo could cost you up to ?1000 at auction.
