1.It All Started When He Was Selected As A French Connection Model

Well, Jason Statham didn't dream of becoming an action hero in his younger days. He had no interest in exploring career opportunities in the modeling or acting domain. His only aim was to become a highly successful diver. When he was training at Crystal Palace National Center, a modeling agent met and offered him a chance to model for French Connection (Fcuk). French Connection was searching for a man who looks ordinary with no model-like physical features. Jason accepted the modeling offer, and that was the beginning of his successful acting career! 

2.Hugh Hefner Kicked Jason Out of Playboy Mansion

Jason Statham was once invited to Playboy Mansion to attend its annual Midsummer Night's Dream Party. However, Jason Statham was thrown out of the party in no time, as he refused to pose with models. He was escorted off from the property by five security guards.

3.He is Obsessed with Playing Chess

Jason Statham loves playing chess, especially with his long-time buddy Guy Ritchie. Jason Statham said he played endless games with Guy Ritchie. They both claim that they are the masters of the game, when comes to playing with each other. Jason Statham went a step ahead, and said Guy Ritchie is probably the world's worst chess player.

4.He Almost Died in a Freak Truck Accident on The Expendables 3 Sets

Jason Statham almost killed himself when a truck he was test driving plunged 60 feet deep into the Black Sea because of breaks failure. Jason's diving skills saved him from drowning. Speaking on the incident, Sylvester Stallone said it was a freak accident, and Jason's diving skills alone helped him survive.

5.Ultimate Spiderman Villain's Character was Designed to Look like Jason Statham

The character vulture in Ultimate Spiderman comic was designed to resemble facial features of Jason Statham. Comic artist Mark Bagley rendered Vulture character to resemble Jason on comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis' instructions. You can see the striking resemblance in the picture.

6.He Gave His Voice to Few Popular Video Game Characters

The voice of Sergeant Waters in call of duty sounds very familiar, if you ever hear it. The character was voiced by none other than Jason Statham. He also voiced Mandril Shrike character in THQ's Red Faction II video game.

7.His Dream is to Play James Bond Role

Jason Statham once said in an interview that it was his dream to do a James Bond role. He even said he will retire after doing a James Bond role, if he ever gets it. "Could I do it? Abso-f***ing-lutely," The Guardian Quoted Jason Statham as saying. It would be wonderful and a delight to all the fans if the 'Crank' star can appear as next James Bond.

8.Jason Statham Love Life

Well, Jason is clearly not a lothario! He is a quiet guy when it comes to dating. He had dated Kelly Brook for seven years before the couple split in 2004. Kelly is a well-known English model and actress. He dated Sophie Monk, an Australian singer, and model, between the years 2006 and 2010. Jason is in a relationship with Rosie-Huntington Whiteley, a top Victoria Secret model. The two are now engaged. Jason Statham proposed to her earlier in 2016 with a $250,000 diamond ring. Rosie-Huntington Whiteley is 20 years younger to Jason Statham! 

9.He Is A Professional Footballer

Vinnie Jones, a famous British actor, and professional football player is a childhood friend of Jason Statham. He introduced football to Jason. Jason played football between the years 1978 and 1983, representing a local grammar school in Norfolk County, UK. He won many competitions for the school. He was one of the most popular local footballers in the county. He was all set to become a professional footballer like Vinnie Jones, but he left the game to become a professional diver. His decision to leave football paid off, but in a different way! As we said earlier, he received a modeling offer from an agent while practicing at a local sports center.

Jason Statham acted in TV commercials back in 2003, promoting Kit Kat chocolates. He acted three different Kit Kat commercials. The ads look cute and somewhat weird too. Nevertheless, those are few video moments where you don't see Jason Statham kicking life out of people!

11.He Is A Professional Diver

Many people have no idea of Jason Statham's sports career. He was a professional diver. He says he loves diving and keeps practicing it whenever he gets an opportunity to do so. Jason Statham competed in diving at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He did not win a medal, though. He was also a member of Britain's National Diving Squad for 12 years in the late 80s and the early 90s. His diving career laid a strong foundation for his adventurous and action-packed acting career. 12.He Don't Need a Stunt Double

Jason Statham has been doing stunts on his own fright from the beginning of his career. He did all the stunts on his own in the films like Snatch, The Expendables, and The Transporter. Jason Statham had a very interesting take on doing stunts on his own. "Dug my own hole, if you like. One of the first action films I did. We didn't have any — any financial reserves to do any green screen or add any sort of a enhancement to any of the stunts. So you know, I ended up doing all my own stunts. So now it's an expectation. And so it's a sticky situation I can't seem to get out of," Statham said in an interview.

Have you ever wondered how Jason Statham broke into the entertainment industry? As we said earlier, his French Connection modeling gig helped him to get some recognition in the glamor and the entertainment industry. When he was a French Connection model, he met Guy Ritchie, who was then gearing up to make the 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' movie. Guy Ritchie was searching for an actor who would be a right fit to the Bacon (a character name) role in the film. Bacon is a black market sales person in that movie. Guy Ritchie selected Jason Statham for the role because Jason too was a black market sales person at one point in his teen years!
