With a strong background in improv comedy, actress and Saturday Night Live alumnus Amy Poelher was the ideal choice to star in NBC's Park & Recreation. With her help the show has become a smash. With the show's help she has earned seven million dollars in 2013 and the number nine spot on our list.

Star of the show The Good Wife, Margulies's first major success came with a supporting role on the hugely popular NBC drama ER. For that show she won an Emmy and the envy of every actress in the world for getting to work with George Clooney. She earned seven million dollars in 2013.

The actress who ranks at number eleven may not be as familiar a face as those she's tied with, but Dunham, the star of the HBO hit series Girls, is well on her way to becoming a household name. In addition to her acting she is also a gifted writer and director.

The lovely Zooey Deschanel makes six million dollars a year on a hit TV sitcom called The New Girl. Deschanel herself is something of a new girl to lists like these, having previously appeared mostly in smaller projects like (500) Days of Summer as well as Mumford.

The actress in thirteenth place with a six million dollar salary is no stranger to success on television. She currently stars in Cougar Town and her previous show Friends was possibly the most lucrative series in the history of TV. She's grown up a lot since being Alex Keaton's girlfriend on Family Ties.

The woman who ranks at number fourteen on the list of highest paid actresses of 2013 actually had two shows cancelled. Whitney and I Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings both bit the dust. But still she earned five million in the year and has somehow convinced people to keep giving her money.

15.Mindy Kaling

At four million dollars a year Mindy Kaling is the fifteenth highest paid actress in television. She stars in a show appropriately called The Mindy Project, for which she is also the creator, writer and producer. Somehow she found time to do a voice for the animated movie Wreck it Ralph.
