We live in a very fast-paced world. The world around us is changing rapidly. To be a happy or successful person, you need to catch up with the speed and keep moving. If you fall short, you are not going to make any impact, thus leaving you feel depressed all the time. There are many other reasons why people feel depressed, empty or worthless. Such things start as little psychological disturbances and can grow to a point where people ruin their lives completely with severe depression or suicidal thoughts.
The problem isn't complicated, though. It is very easy to overcome those little bad feelings. No one's life on this planet is worthless. Read fifteen simple things you can do when you feel like your life is worthless.
1.Control the 'Inner Voice'
The little voice in your head that keeps talking to you is the only thing that can make you feel sad, lonely, worthless, focused, satisfied or happy. Learn to control it. If it keeps telling you that your life sucks, you can't come out of that feeling. Stop the negative self-talk. Force it to tell you good things.
2.Stop Criticizing Yourself
Criticizing yourself is just like rubbing 'salt to the injury'. Instead, start counting your achievements, If you are reading this article, you're probably in your 20s or 30s or even older than that and have at least completed your high school. Do you have any idea how lucky you are compared to people in third world countries who are working in their teens and can't afford high school education let alone graduation!

3.Work towards a Goal
J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter book series, once revealed that she went through horrible clinical depression and wanted to kill herself before starting to write the highly popular book series. Her focus on the book helped her get out of the depression and later became a Billionaire! Don't lead a pointless life if you want to be happy. Make long-term or short-term goals, and dedicate all your time towards it rather than sitting and whine about it.

4.Get Rid of Those People or Things that Make You Unhappy
People are unhappy because of many reason. Find out why you are unhappy in the first place. List down the names of people or things that are making you feel bad about life. Try to get rid of them, and distance yourself from people whom you think are sucking the happiness out of your life. Stop doing the things which make you unhappy. Your job makes you unhappy? Quit that job and find one which makes you happy.
5.Forget about the Past, Don't Worry about the Future either
You can't change the past; You can't go back and correct things. In the same way, no one can guess what's going to happen in the future. Stop thinking about the past or worrying about the future. 'This moment' is the true moment, and you need to do things that make you happy today.
6.Get a Makeover
Get a new hairstyle. Dye your hair with different color. Try new fashion. Try changing yourself completely so when you look yourself in the mirror, you no longer going to see the old and unhappy face!
7.List Down all the Positive and Happy Things in Your Life
We keep complaining that life is unfair to us. Let's see how unfair life is to us. Start writing all the happy and positive moments of your life in a diary. We bet you will be surprised to learn that your life doesn't suck as much as you think it does!

8.Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
Why would you even think of comparing yourself to others? You can't step into their shoes and live their life. They might be suffering from problems that you may not know. Stop comparing yourself to the other people around, and start working on what's lacking in your life and how to achieve it.

Meditation can help reduce depression, sadness, loneliness and other psychological ailments. It also helps you focus on things that need your attention, and give you a firm control of your mind and thinking process. 10.Go to Gym and Get Fit
If you are physically strong, the chances are very high that you will be strong mentally as well. Physical fitness is always linked to a happy mind; It also builds confidence in yourself. Try to stay fit and healthy. Go to gym, workout or do aerobic exercises.
11.Find a Way to Distract Yourself from Bad Feelings
You feel sad and down because you are constantly thinking about bad things. "An idle mind is the devil's workplace". It's harmful to others as well as you.
Learn to play a music instrument, sign for a computer course, a new language, or volunteer for something good. If you don't already have a pet, bring one home today. If you are unemployed, get a job even if it pays less, All the millionaires started small. You need to get busy.
12.Spend Time with Friends and Family Members
Even the criminals have best friends! Why can't you? Hang out with your friends and family members. If you think you don't have enough friends, go out and make some friends. You can also befriend a person who is suffering from depression, so you both can sit and help each other overcome it.
13.Read Inspiring Stories and Listen to Upbeat Music
Go to your favorite bookstore and search for those motivational books, or biographies of great people who had seen worse in their life. Learn how they crawled out of their bad times. Check the lives of poor people in African and Asian countries. Read and know what it's like to die from hunger - die from lack of medical facilities. Now compare your life to them and see if life is really unfair with you. Are you doing justice to life? Are you giving your best?
Listening to motivational or upbeat music is another good way to keep yourself energized and motivated. Browse YouTube to find a ton of inspiring pieces of music. You can buy some high-quality motivational music on iTunes (or Google Play).
14.See the Sunrise Every Morning
When was the last time you saw a sunrise? Now, this is a serious question. We guess many people haven't seen the sunrise in a very long time. If you feel depressed or find your life empty, go out for a casual walk, jog or cycling early in the morning. You will be surprised to know how soothing and peaceful an early morning atmosphere can be. Minimize the bedtime thinking, and try to sleep early.
15.Start a New Life
If your thinking comes down to a point where you feel your life is utterly worthless, you need to act fast and act big to put it in order again. Putting your life in order should be your topmost priority.
Find a new job. Move to another state or city. Leave back all those sad memories or bad things in life, and start an entirely new life, in a new place, with new people around. However, make sure you still stay in touch with good people in your life like your parents or best friends.
Remember, you are what your mind thinks you are. Respect yourself. Always see yourself as a winner, not a loser. Stay happy, and help others to stay happy. NEVER GIVE UP!!! ACT NOW!!
