1.Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are fantastic at preventing cancer and it is all because of the antioxidants contained within them. The main thing in this vegetable is the beta-carotene and it has been shown that in different quantities this can reduce the risk of developing various cancers including of the colon and lung.


Berries are seen as being the fruit that are most likely to stop you getting cancer and it is due to different chemicals that appear in the different berries. One of the most important is called pterostilbene and it has been shown to reduce the risk of various tumors by up to 80%.


Peanuts are high in Vitamin E and when your diet is rich in this vitamin it has been shown to increase the chances of you not developing cancer by quite a considerable amount. Add them to your diet, even peanut butter is good, and feel the benefits of this antioxidant.


The reason why grapefruit is so good is thanks to the levels of vitamin C contained within them. This vitamin has been proven to stop certain cancer compounds from developing in the first place and of course that is going to play a major role in stopping you developing this terrible disease.


The reason why tea is included is that it is high in catechin compounds and scientists believe that they play a key role in stopping the development of the growth of cancer cells. This is still in its early stages, but the results are quite promising, so keep drinking that tea because it really may be doing you more good than you realize.


Asparagus is another vegetable that is regarded as being very alkaline and of course it contains those phytonutrients that have been mentioned elsewhere. This is going to hit your body in several different ways, so those cancer cells are going to find it hard to start to replicate and cause trouble.


The reason as to why onions are included is simple. This vegetable is regarded as being very alkaline by nature and it has been shown that people that follow an alkaline diet do not fall as ill as people eating a normal one. The reason for that is cancer cells find it impossible to grow in an alkaline environment, so include them in your diet to help work against the acidic food you are eating.



Broccoli is high in a number of vitally important nutrients including various vitamins and phytonutrients. The idea here is that they can stop the actual metabolism of those cancer compounds and instead actually spur the development of detoxifying compounds in our body that will help to cleanse it from our system.


Studies are starting to show that if you eat raw garlic twice a week, then your chances of developing cancer will reduce. The main thing here seems to be a chemical called allicin, which is found in garlic and considering it appears to reduce the chances of cancer by up to 44% in some people it is certainly worth trying.



Watermelon contains something called lycopean and if you go ahead and look it up you will see that scientists view this as being an important tool in the fight against cancer. It is of course also high in various vitamins, but it is that one chemical that is the key part and a major reason to eat watermelon.

Olive oil appears to protect us against the growth of various malignant tumors and this is seen as being a major breakthrough in science. There is no doubt that we should have it in our diet for a whole host of reasons, but now that we know it can stop the likes of breast cancer developing, then surely you should pay more attention to it?



Spinach is seen as being a superfood in the battle against cancer and it is easy to see why. It is crammed full of so many different nutrients that there is no way that you should not include it at least once a week in your diet. Those vitamins, high in iron, and a whole host of antioxidants should mean that your chances of developing a whole host of cancers should vanish by a considerable amount.
