1.See's Candies

See's Candies was founded by Charles and Florence See in 1921. It's products are mainly sold in it's own stores, with its headquarters in San Francisco. Charles' mother Mary See developed the recipe that is used as the foundation of all of See's candies. The first See's Candies was opened in Los Angeles.




2.Godiva

This premium chocolate company was founded in Belgium in 1926. Godiva was first opened as a boutique in Brussels and was named after Lady Godiva. There are over 450 Godiva shops around the world today, with six seasonal mail order catalogs sent throughout the United States per year. It is also sold at malls.



3.Ghiradelli

The Ghiradelli Chocolate Company is a division of Lindt & Sprungli. Founded by Domenico Ghiradelli in 1852, it is the second only to Baker's Chocolate as the oldest chocolate company in the United States. Only accepting the finest cocoa beans, Ghiradelli rejects up to forty percent of the cocoa beans they receive.





4.Dove

Dove Candies & Ice Cream began in Chicagoin 1956 and went national in 1985. Picked up by Mars, Inc., the Dove ice cream bar started it all. Their rich creamy milk chocolate coating covering decadent ice cream, took this company to the top. They now use that same delicious chocolate for their chocolate bars.



5.Lindt

Lindt & Sprungli is a Swiss chocolate company. Their brand is associated with high end, luxury chocolate, dating back to 1845. Lindor is made up of a hard chocolate shell with a smooth chocolate filling. The chocolate comes in the infamous ball shape with colored foil wrapping that is as popular as the chocolate inside, with all its different colors and designs.





6.Eclat Chocolate

Christopher Curtin created the Eclat Company using some of the world's oldest chocolate machinery. The master chocolatier founded the company over twenty years ago after working alongside pastry chefs in Europe. Awarded the German Master Pastry Chef and Chocolatier in Germany, he became the first American to receive this award.



7.Russell Stover

Russell Stover is a popular candy company that produces chocolate, candy and other confections. They did not start out with candy though. Russell Stover and Christian Nelson first invented the chocolate dipped ice cream bar in 1921, which was named the Eskimo Pie. Almost going out of business as other companies jumped on the chocolate dipped ice cream bandwagon, Stover sold is shares and started his own company packaging and boxing chocolates.

8.Hershey

The Hershey Company is the largest manufactures of chocolate in North America. Around since 1894 it is often dubbed the Great American Chocolate. The maker of Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Hershey's Special Dark and Hershey's Cookies & Cream, you just hear the word Hershey and you think of chocolate.



9.Cadbury

Cadbury Schweppes is the largest confectionary manufacturer in the world. They not only produce delicious chocolate, they also produce beverages. The Cadbury Egg is a special treat that comes out every Easter and features a gooey, sugary center that looks like a real egg. They also make Fry's and Green & Black's.

10.Ferrero

Ferrero was founded by Pietro Ferrero in 1946, and is known for products such as the popular Ferrero Rocher, as well as Nutella, Mon Cheri and Giotto. Ferror Rocher's are given as presents for holidays and come in fancy boxes. These chocolates are decadent and rich enough to make any recipient of this gift feel special.



11.Nestle

Nestle USA is a multinational company that has been around since the early 1900's. Known for the Nestle Crunch Bar, as well as Butterfinger, Kit Kat, Baby Ruth, Oh Henry and Wonka Bars, Nestle is a name synonymous with chocolate. However they also include products such as bottled water, ice cream, coffee, food seasoning and pet foods.

Mars, Inc. is a worldwide manufacturer that is known for the Mars Bar but also the Milky Way Bar the Snickers Bar, M&Ms;, and the Twix Bar. Mars makes a lot of the chocolate bars that you love and is one of the top grossing chocolate bar companies in the world.
