Seven Pounds is hailed as Will Smith's most dramatic role to-date. During its promotional stage, the film's production company refused to explain the title or the overall plot. Their marketing tactic didn't go over well, as the film failed to hit No. 1 at the box office. The movie is one of Smith's lowest grossing films ever. The actor's superb acting didn't get the attention it deserved due to bad promotion. Seven Pounds is the second film in Smith's career where he sacrifices his life to save other people.
2.Hancock (2008)
Hancock was Will Smith's first official stab at portraying a superhero. This proved to be an unconventional role for Smith, who continuously played the good-guy up until this point. In true Will Smith movie fashion, his character eventually redeems himself and become a model superhero. To the surprise of many, the film clenched the No. 1 spot for its opening weekend. It went on to earn $624,386,746 globally.
3.I Am Legend (2007)
Will Smith continued his legendary No. 1 box office run with I Am Legend. This post-apocalyptic film had the actor battling mutated humans called Darkseekers. He was playing a hero once again, but this time his fate was different. The theatrical release had Smith's character sacrifice himself for the sake of humanity; this would be the first time Smith would die in a film. The alternate ending, which is an extra scene on the DVD, allows Smith's character liveby giving a woman he saved to the head of the Darkseekers.I Am Legend grabbed the No. 1 spot for its opening weekend. The movie has made $585,349,010 worldwide, making it among the top 100 all-time highest earning films both domestically and globally.
4.Enemy of the State (1998)
Enemy of the State reunited Will Smith with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who he worked with on Bad Boys (1995). The film never reached No. 1 at the box office, but it did maintain its position at No. 3 for two weeks straight. Smith took the role as 'Robert Dean' because he desperately wanted to work with Gene Hackman. The action-thriller went on to gross a little over $251 million worldwide.
5.Hitch (2005)
Hitch was Will Smith's first romantic comedy flick. Prior to the film's release, Smith had only played the brave man and never the Rico Suave. In the film, the Smith plays Alex "Hitch" Hitchens - a professional "date doctor" who trains men how to court a woman correctly. The film remained No. 1 at the box office for two weeks straight before dropping to No. 2 in its third week. Hitch reportedly earned $366.7 million worldwide.
6.The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
The Pursuit of Happyness is the second biopic film of Will Smith's career.The film is based on Chris Gardner's year-long struggle with being homeless. Even with its dismal subject matter, the movie went on to be Smith's sixth consecutive No. 1 opening at the box office. Additionally, it's one of the actor's consecutive $100 million blockbusters. Smith earned his second Oscar nomination for 'Best Actor' with this film.
7.I, Robot (2004)
I, Robot is a science-fiction action film that was released July 2004. The movie's success depended heavily on Smith's ability to garner attention from people of all races. He was the only mainstream actor inthe film; Shia Lebouf also starred in the movie but he was not a household name at the time. The movie received varied reviews, but sci-fi fans loved it. I, Robot has grossed more than $340 million worldwide.

8.Men In Black 3 (2012)
Men in Black 3 is the most successful movie in the MIB franchise. The film's concept, which had Agent J traveling back in time to save a young Agent K, was proposed by Will Smith during the filming of the first installment. The idea was put on the backburner and was used for MIB 3 instead. To-date, the film has made $624,026,776 worldwide. Smith's work even got him a Teen Choice Award nomination in the 'Choice Movie Chemistry' category. There are whispers of a Men In Black 4 being made in the near future.

Bad Boys was Will Smith's first action-packed film. He starred opposite Martin Lawrence in the film, and to this day many fans say the pairing was a match made in heaven. Bad Boys II hit theaters in 2003.

Ali was a one-of-a-kind role for Will Smith. It was nothing like any of his previous roles. He had to throw himself into the role and transform both mentally and physically for the past. He spent one year learning everything there is to know about Muhammad Ali. This included learning the practices of Islam, boxing training and learning how to speak like the famous boxer. Smith has said that his portrayal of Muhammad Ali is his proudest work to-date. His portrayal went on to earn him an Oscar nomination at the 2001 Academy Awards. The film went on to earn $87.7 million worldwide.
