When Val Kilmer famously played Jim Morrison role in the 1991 film "The Doors", he broke his arm on the set. As he was jumping from the stage into the crowd, the stuntman missed and failed to catch him. The elbow deformity is a result of the broken bone not healing correctly. It is often hidden, but can be seen clearly in the 1995 film. His extended elbow does look gross, but at least it can be concealed easily.
