Best South Korean Movies

1.Secret Sunshine

This story is all about how one woman deals with various emotions such as grief and faith and even though it may sound boring it is actually quite a beautiful movie to watch. Yes it is emotional and it will certainly make you stop and think about a few things connected to yourself and surely that is what you want from a movie?

2.Oasis

This movie is all about the relationship between a mentally disabled man and a physically disabled woman. It is very touching and the director has handled this story very well indeed, so if you are the emotional type do yourself a favor and avoid watching this because it will probably be a bit too much for you to bear.

3.My wife is a gangster

You can largely guess what this movie is all about and the fact that there is more than one of them in the series does let you see how popular they are. At least this has a nice little twist to the idea of a gangster movie where the female sits and cooks, so if you want to see a movie with more power to women, then this is the one for you.

4.Welcome to Dongmakgol

This is set in the Korean war and it is the movie version of a popular stage play and it has actually made the transition pretty well indeed. The entire plot is that the people in this village are unaware of the war and it is certainly an enjoyable movie to watch.

5.Attack the gas station

This is a crime comedy movie that will have you laughing even though you need to rely on subtitles. It is all about raiding a gas station and it going wrong and in all honesty the entire movie becomes a bit of a farce as it goes on, but that just adds to the appeal.

6.The good, the bad and the weird

Yes you have guessed right that this is a South Korean western and there is no way that you would have been expecting that. It is actually very enjoyable even though it is not like the westerns that you will be used to watching, but it passes the time and it is also very well made.

7.Il Mare

If you are looking for a romantic story, then this is certainly a movie that you should consider watching. It does pull on those heart strings and will draw you in before ultimately leaving you quite possibly in tears as the story unfolds before your very eyes.

8.I'm a cyborg, but that's ok

OK so it has a rather crazy title, but the movie itself is not as bad as what it is called. The movie is actually set in a mental hospital and is all about a woman who believes that she is indeed a cyborg. This is a movie that does have a few twists to it, but it will keep you smiling and laughing all the way through it.

9.My Sassy Girl

This is all about the meeting of a guy and a drunk girl on a train and their adventures that follow. She goes against various stereotypes that he had about women and it is an enjoyable romantic comedy that will keep you entertained throughout.

10.100 days with Mr. Arrogant

This is another romantic comedy and it actually stems from something that is called Internet fiction. The story itself the trials and tribulations of a couple getting together with a few rather nice twists to the plot that will make sure that you continue to pay attention.

11.He was cool

This movie is set in a high school, so it is all about teenage angst and you will certainly love watching that rather simple movie. There really is nothing complex about it just a good old fashioned story that has been replicated time and time again in Hollywood.

12.My boyfriend is blood type B

This film was voted the best romantic comedy in 2005 and it is certainly an enjoyable watch. The idea is tied in with the Japanese theory about blood types being a perfect match for a couple due to the way it affects their personality. It may sound confusing, but it is still fun.
