1.Prague

Prague is a city that is becoming a lot more popular to visit and it is easy to understand why as soon as you get there. It is hard to believe that it used to be behind the Iron Curtain, but then that kind of adds some extra charm to it all as you explore its bold architecture and wonderful night life.




2.Rio de Janeiro

Where do you start with Rio? It has such an amazing backdrop that it really will leave you breathless. Yes there are slums in the middle of the city, which you cannot ignore, but just look around you and try to tell yourself that the likes of Copacabana beach does not make this city beautiful.



3.Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of those cities where you see a photograph that includes part of a canal and you instantly know where it is. There is a real quaintness about the city, even though it is big and busy, and of course it is helped by the fact that the Dutch never seem to be in a rush. This is a perfect city for one of those weekend breaks.





4.Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a gorgeous city to walk around in as you have the mixture of the Old Town and the New Town. The old has the castle, the palace, cobbled streets, and small lanes whereas the new is bold architecture that still dates back 200 hundred years. It is no wonder people from all around the world head there.



5.Vancouver

Vancouver is in this list due to its setting as you have the Canadian wilderness behind it alongside the seafront and it does make for a very interesting mix. You may feel as if you have been stuck out in the middle of nowhere when getting there, but it is all worth it in the end as you explore this beautiful city.





6.Sydney

Sydney has to be one of the most beautiful cities in this part of the world even though it is not that old, at least compared to other ones in the list. Of course the opera house and bridge really do play their part, but you will see modern buildings that are not too in your face alongside small and quaint traditional Australian buildings going back 100 years.



7.Cape Town

Cape Town has this absolutely gorgeous backdrop thanks to Table Mountain and the sea and the city itself is not too bad either. It has this cool mixture of colonial style buildings with striking new designs and it is no wonder that it is such a tourist hotspot.

8.Venice

This choice is pretty much self-explanatory because everybody knows how romantic this city is thanks to the canals and lets face it, you will find it hard to locate a city that has stunning buildings, gorgeous bridges, and water in this way. Do yourself a favor and get there at least once in your life.



9.Barcelona

Barcelona has this mix of strange architecture, modern design, traditional Spanish, and a vibrant feel. What all of this does, however, is that it makes it one of the most exciting cities in the world and even though the mix may be strange it comes together to give you a city that is absolutely stunning.

10.Rome

Rome is absolutely stunning as a city and you will see why from the moment that you land there. It has a mixture of Italian passion, wonderful architecture, and ancient monuments and that does not even include the stunning fountains scattered across the city. This is a place that you will want to come back to time and time again.



11.Budapest

This one may surprise you, but when you look at it from a height and see the mighty Danube flowing through it and the architecture in the city, then you will start to understand why it actually is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Yes it may not be one of the busiest, but look upon this as a hidden gem.

What can we say about Paris that has not already been said? This city is not only the place to go for romance, but can you think of anything nicer than looking at the Eiffel tower while sitting sipping on a coffee in some crisp air? There is a real charm about this city and it is one that you will be glad that you have visited.
