Hobbies are a great way to alleviate stress. They take your mind of what is stressing you out and keep your hands busy, to settle your nerves. Doing puzzles, knitting, ceramics, gardening, and painting are all great stress relievers. What do you like to do? Pick something and do it.

Aromatherapy is a great stress reliever. Certain scents relax the mind and spirit and put you in a tranquil mood. Any time you can get away and relax is great for stress. Take the time to take care of you before you take care of others and it will do your body good.

Try to eliminate caffeine from your diet. You may be surprised where caffeine is lurking. It's not just in coffee, but in your energy drinks, colas and teas. Caffeine can act as a stimulant which can worsen stress in the body. Go for caffeine free options and make sure to drink lots of water.

Learning about pressure points in the body and using that to alleviate stress is a great idea. Each pressure point alleviates tension in a specific part of the body. Visualization is a powerful tool. Think about when you were the most happy, the most relaxed. Where were you, what were you doing, how did you feel? If you visualize it hard enough you may even be able to smell the flowers that were blooming, or the food that was cooking.
