Simple Yoga Poses To Lose Weight

1.The bridge

With the bridge pose you need to start off flat on your back. It is important that you bend your knees so that it allows your feet to be flat against the ground because the entire aim of this pose is to lift your buttocks up off the ground arching your back as you do so. You need to hold it for a number of seconds before returning to the original position and you should feel a stretch in various parts of your body.

2.Rotated triangle

With this pose you need to stand with one foot in front of one another in the lunge position. Take your left arm and point it upwards before bringing the hand down to your right hand side, twisting your body as you do so. Return to the starting position before repeating it, but with your right arm.

3.Down dog

OK so this looks like a strange pose, but it is actually very good when it comes to weight loss. The entire idea is that you are on all fours before lifting your hips and back up to create an upside down V shape. This is going to stretch your back and middle part and hold it for several seconds before returning to your original position.

4.The bow

This pose is very easy to do, but it is one of the best fat burning positions out there. Lie flat on your stomach, bend your knees up, and grab your feet. Pull in your stomach, lift your feet up and lift your head at the same time in order to stretch the middle part of your body. The key here is to keep your shoulders and back down as much as possible.

5.The wind release

Lie flat on your back and your legs stretched out in front of you. Bring them both up so your knees are as close to your chest as possible and keep your ankles tight together. Put your arms around your knees and slowly lift your head up and do so until you feel your abs being stretched.

6.The plank

Lie on your tummy and out your palms near your face. Bend your feet as this will result in your toes pushing up off the mat and use your hands to lift your butt up into the air.


Sit with legs out in front and bend your knees until your feet are sole to sole. Use your hands to pull them together until the heels are touching and move your thighs like a bird flapping its wings.


8.Ardha Matsyendrasana

Sit with your legs in front of you and feet together. Keep your back straight then bend your left leg and put your heel close to your right hip. Lift your right leg and put it over your left knee and twist at the waist to stretch.

9.Tree pose

Stand with legs together and raise one leg and tuck your foot inwards against the other knee. Lift your arms above your head with hands together and breathe while thinking about your balance.


10.Chair pose

Stand with your hands out in front of you before raising them above your head. Bend your knees until your thighs are basically parallel to the floor and bend your torso a bit as you breathe.

11.The warrior pose

Stand with your feet together and hands at your side. Put your right leg forward and your left leg extending back. Lunge forward to create an angle, exhale, and lift your arms up above your head.


12.Ardha Chandraasana

For this pose you need to stand with your feet together and your hands above your head and clasped together. Stretch, exhale, and bend sideways then repeat on the other side.
